On Sunday morning Bayern conducted their first open training session since arriving in Doha. During the session in the desert state, much of the public's focus centred on a player who unfortunately has not been seen by Bayern's fans for some time: Lucas Hernández celebrated his return to training for the first time after around two and a half months out following ankle surgery at the end of October.

The French World Cup winner had already been able to complete a run the evening before - and he was given the all-clear to finally train with his team-mates on Sunday. Later, the 23-year-old participated in the circuit training, where the Bayern squad were tasked with various exercises involving dumbbells, bars, rings and weights.
When Hansi Flick moved the players' session onto ball-work and tactics-oriented training, Hernández left the pitch, continuing individual drills with the fitness coaches.
