120 years of FC Bayern: 120 years of great triumphs, emotion and passion. fcbayern.com presents the best facts in the history of the German record champions to mark the club's 120th birthday on 27 February.

1. Undisputed number one

FC Bayern have taken 3,736 Bundesliga points (according to the three points for a win rule), almost 1,000 more points than closest rivals Dortmund (2,848).

2. Record champions, record cup winners, record double winners

FC Bayern have won 29 championship titles, which makes them German record champions. Since the foundation of the Bundesliga in 1963, Munich have won exactly half of the championship titles (28 out of 56). FC Bayern won their first big title in 1932. The Bavarians have won 19 DFB Cups, which makes them record cup winners by far, their closest pursuers being Werder Bremen on six triumphs. FCB won their 12th domestic double in 2019 . No other German team boasts more than one double. FC Schalke won it in 1937, FC Köln in 1978, Werder Bremen in 2004 and Borussia Dortmund in 2012.

3. The best season

Bayern took the most points in one Bundesliga campaign in 2013, when they collected 91. FC Bayern won the historic treble that season, the only German team to achieve this feat so far.

4. The fewest goals conceded

FC Bayern conceded only 17 goals in the 2015/16 campaign, another Bundesliga record.

5. The most goals

What a number! FC Bayern scored 101 goals in the 1971/72 season, the most in the Bundesliga's history.

6. Silverware collectors Ribéry and Schweinsteiger

Franck Ribéry set a record when he bade farewell at the end of the 2018/19 season. No other Bundesliga player has won nine Bundesliga titles. Bastian Schweinsteiger has won seven DFB Cups, a record in the competition.

7. The top scorer

40 goals in a campaign! FCB legend Gerd Müller boasts the most goals in a Bundesliga campaign. The Bomber is the most prolific striker by far in Bundesliga history, having scored a stunning 365 goals in 427 matches. Klaus Fischer, lying second, has scored almost 100 fewer goals, 268 in 535 matches.

8. Trophy collector

Gerd Müller won seven top scorer trophies, another record. Robert Lewandowski is lying second, having won four so far. The Bundesliga top scorers have been Bayern pros in 18 seasons, followed by Dortmund and Köln (five campaigns each).

9. The most clean sheets

FC Bayern managed 22 shutouts in the 2014/15 campaign, a Bundesliga record.

10. Bayern's most frequent Bundesliga opponents

FC Bayern have taken on Werder Bremen in 107 matches, more often than any other opponents.

11. The most Bundesliga victories

FCB have beaten Hamburger SV 65 times, more often than any other opponents.

12. The most Bundesliga defeats

Bayern conceded the most league defeats against Werder (26).

13. The most Bundesliga goals

FC Bayern have scored 247 goals against Hamburger SV, more than against any other Bundesliga opponents.

14. The most Bundesliga goals conceded

Munich have conceded 130 goals against Gladbach, more than against any other opponents.

15. Landmark victory

FC Bayern's 4-0 win over FC Köln in October 2015 was their 1,000th Bundesliga victory.

16. The most competitive matches

Oliver Kahn made the most competitive appearances for FC Bayern (632) since their promotion to the Bundesliga in 1965. The former keeper also made the most European appearances for Bayern (132). In addition, Kahn kept the most clean sheets in the Bundesliga (196). However, Manuel Neuer is hot on Kahn's heels, boasting 186 shutouts.

17. The most Bundesliga matches

FCB goalkeeping legend Sepp Maier made the most Bundesliga appearances (473, 442 of them in a row!).

18. The player with the most Bundesliga victories

Oliver Kahn celebrated the most Bundesliga victories with Bayern (260), with Thomas Müller (244) in hot pursuit.

19. Mia san international

43 nations: players from 43 different nations (including Germany) have made appearances for the German record champions since the promotion to the Bundesliga in 1965.

20. Record holder

Franck Ribéry is the non-German player with the most appearances for FC Bayern. The Frenchman made 425 competitive appearances for FCB, scoring 124 goals.

21. The FC Bayern coaches

24 coaches (including interim coaches) had a total of 31 spells at Bayern since the foundation of the Bundesliga. Treble coach Jupp Heynckes had the most spells (four). Ottmar Hitzfeld was in charge of 444 competitive matches, more than any other coach, with Udo Lattek (414) lying second. Hitzfeld also oversaw the most competitive victories (268), followed by Heynckes (256) and Lattek (255). Udo Lattek won six championship titles with FC Bayern, more than any other coach.

22. The world's biggest sports club

293,000 members make FC Bayern the world's biggest sports club by membership.
