Many FC Bayern fans are celebrating Easter this weekend. Because of the coronavirus pandemic and travel restrictions, things are different for everyone this year. That includes our coach Hansi Flick, who recently extended his Bayern contract to 2023. fcbayern.com spoke to the 54-year-old in a short interview about his Easter this year.
The interview with Hansi Flick
Mr. Flick, how do you celebrate Easter?
"Unfortunately, I can't celebrate Easter with the whole family this year, just with my wife. I miss my children and grandchildren who live near Heidelberg. But obviously we're sticking to the guidelines and celebrating separately."
Do you have any Easter traditions?
"The whole family usually spend the day together on Easter Sunday. For my grandchildren, the Easter egg hunt is the highlight. Finding the eggs is much more important than any other gifts. Maybe we can replicate it by video call." (laughing)
Do you have (online) contact with the team at Easter or are they completely free?
"We trained again on Saturday, but Sunday and Monday are days off. The boys should switch off completely for two days - without any instructions from the coaching team, because they have worked really hard in the past few weeks despite the difficult circumstances."
FC Bayern wishes all of its fans a happy and healthy Easter!
Last Tuesday, Hansi Flick spoke in a video press conference about the current situation at Bayern:
