The attire was almost more intereresting than the scoreline. On 6 April 1974, Bayern claimed a point at home to 1. FC Kaiserslautern after 'Katsche' Schwarzenbeck made it 1-1 in the 74th minute for the league leaders. However, the main talking point of the match was on the FCB shirt as the Munich club wore a sponsor on their chest for the first time in their history. A large 'adidas' logo adorned the jerseys of Franz Beckenbauer & Co.
Just a few months before, in October 1973, the DFB had officially permitted the use of shirt sponsors. Today, 46 years after its Bayern debut, the logo is a normal sight on the German record champions' kit. adidas remained the shirt sponsor until the end of the 1977/78 season. Since 2002, Telekom has emblazoned the club's shirts.
