Although professional football remains suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, focussed preparations for a possible resumption of the season are continuing at FC Bayern. Hansi Flick's side have been training in small groups at Säbener Straße since April 6 in order to stay as physically fit and match-sharp as possible during the break in play.
Six small groups on three pitches
Flick welcomed his charges to the training pitch again on Thursday in glorious sunshine. He and his coaching staff had put together a varied session for the players involving different stations. Divided into six groups, with the goalkeepers in a separate group, the Reds completed an arduous session across three pitches.
Target practice at dart board
Alongside running and coordination exercises, there were a number of stations for passing and shooting drills. The competitive element was fuelled by a relay race with balls, rings and training bibs. Last but not least, there was a lively target shooting competition with an oversized dart board, which caused much laughter among both the players and coaches.
