On Wednesday, FC Bayern handed over a donation of €250,000 to WeKickCorona, which was created by players Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka. The contribution comes from the sale of FCB face masks, which were made by a Bavarian company out of scarves originally supposed to be given out at the postponed Champions League match against Chelsea at the Allianz Arena.
“It’s great what Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich have achieved with WeKickCorona,” said FC Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. “We’re delighted to be able to hand over a sum of €250,000 from the proceeds from our face masks, giving it to this remarkable campaign by our players.”
WeKickCorona is a campaign created by Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich to support social and charitable institutions from all areas of society that have been particularly affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
