Flick: We didn't leave our opponents the slightest chance

What an impressive display! FC Bayern dominated proceedings throughout against Düsseldorf, sealing an utterly deserved 5-0 victory. "It was important for us to show we wouldn't ease off after Tuesday's match aginst Dortmund. We saw that from the first second," a pleased Hansi Flick said after the final whistle.

Reaction to Bayern v Düsseldorf

Hansi Flick: "It's important to have a successful season. At FC Bayern you must always win the championship title, that's our goal. We still have a few matches ahead of us. We're in a good position now. It was important for us to show we wouldn't ease off after Tuesday's match aginst Dortmund. We saw that from the first second. So I'm very, very pleased with our performance. We were very aggressive and didn't leave our opponents the slightest chance. You can see how the players are pushing and motivating one another."

David Alaba: "We're very ambitious, the atmosphere in the team is very positive, and you can see that in the matches. We want to win every match, we're very hungry, we want to come out on top at the end of the season. That's what marks us out."

Alphonso Davies: "I enjoy football, I try to do my best every day. I want to win every match. Of course it was hard after the match against Dortmund. We wanted to keep up the mentality and take three points. We achieved that."

Uwe Rösler (Fortuna Düsseldorf head coach): "We started exactly as we'd planned, but we noticed pretty quickly that the pitch is very fast. It's a great pitch but too fast for us. We had three decent chances in the first half, we should have scored a goal. That would have given us even more energy. Unfortunately we didn't take them. The goals just after the break killed the game for us. It's a bit disappointing that we've ruined the good impression from the last few months a bit today. But we've always bounced back so far, and we will this time."

Erik Thommy (Fortuna Düsseldorf): "When you play in Munich, you know exactly what's in store for you. You have to get really lucky and Bayern have to show a few weaknesses. They didn’t do that today. In this condition they are very hard to beat. It was a deserved victory, even by this scoreline. We just didn't get a grip for the whole 90 minutes."
