Mario Gómez says goodbye after treble

Two goals, the DFB Cup and the treble - Mario Gómez could not have imagined a better final game for Bayern. Victory against his youth club VfB Stuttgart made it even better. On 1 June 2013, the top striker gave himself the greatest farewell gift with his brace in the 3-2 cup final win.

The easiest exercise! After the perfect pass from Thomas Müller, Gómez just had to tap in. The attacker knew exactly where to stand, as evidenced by his stats in the FCB jersey. He scored a whopping 113 goals in 174 games.

In the Berlin final, the Germany international played from the start and in the second half he showed what distinguished him in his four years at Bayern: his incredible hunger for goals. In the 48th and 61st minutes, Gómez was in the right position to finish after perfect passes from Philipp Lahm and Thomas Müller for the 3-0 lead over VfB.

Thanks to his goals, it was mission accomplished and Bayern won the DFB Cup in 2013. Overall, Gómez was twice German champion, DFB Cup winner and Super Cup winner in the FCB jersey. In addition he celebrated the triumph in the Champions League in 2013.

It was the key performance in the battle for the cup that completed the treble for FCB in 2013. With his fifth and sixth goals in the competition, Gómez became the top scorer of the cup season. A few weeks later, his move to Fiorentina in Italy was announced. The evening in Berlin was the culmination of his incredibly successful time in the FCB jersey.

Bayern will never forget 1 June 2013. The treble was completed with victory in the cup final. Here are the pictures from this incredible evening:
