Flick: "We want to keep up our rhythm"

Bayern refused to ease off after sealing their eighth straight championship title, beating SC Freiburg 3-1 on Saturday. "You saw we're hungry and greedy, that we wanted to win the match even though we've already won the title," said Joshua Kimmich. Thomas Müller agreed, outlining the champions' qualities: "It's down to our inner motivation that entitles us to play for FC Bayern and enables us to push ourselves to our limits week in week out."

Reaction to FC Bayern v Freiburg

Hansi Flick: "We wanted to be in control, create chances and put our opponents under pressure. It's just the way we play. I'm really pleased with it. But the players share the goals around, which is why it's working so well at the moment. It's important to keep up our rhythm after winning the title. We want to use our matches for that. It worked out very well today, and we want to build on it again away to Wolfsburg."

Thomas Müller: "We wanted to be greedy. All teams have ambitious goals before matches. We're doing a very good job at the moment. It's down to our inner motivation that entitles us to play for FC Bayern and enables us to push ourselves to our limits week in week out. We're expected to achieve nothing but success. We've dedicated ourselves to that. We showed superb energy today. It's a shame we didn't score in the second half. I should have added my name to the scoresheet at least once."

Joshua Kimmich: "You saw we're hungry and greedy, that we wanted to win the match even though we've already won the title. We want fair competition, we want to keep up our rhythm, even if nothing's at stake any more. It's a special kind of mentality. A lot of work has gone into it. We don't only push ourselves on matchdays, it begins in training, in our preparations. We still have ambitious goals this season. We absolutely want to win the cup final and go on the attack in the Champions League and use our momentum. We didn't always dominate because of individual quality. It was often down to our mentality, fighting and will to win."

Christian Streich (SC Freiburg head coach): "We gave it everything. Unfortunately we deserved to lose today. I thought we could have got more, so we're disappointed today. We went into the game with absolute determination to win here. Unfortunately, we weren't assured enough in the first 25 minutes and couldn't use the space that was available."

Christian Günter: "Bayern have enormous quality, that's why they'll be German champions, just like they've been the last eight years. We had hoped that they would drop off a level today. We had our chances in the first half, but two or three times we didn't finish well enough. Bayern were ruthless - as they've been throughout the season. That's why we lost here."

Alexander Schwolow: "We could have sometimes defended better in the first half. We had big chances or opportunities to create good chances. Unfortunately, we weren't tidy enough in those moments. But of course it's quite impressive when that kind of unstoppably train-like force comes towards you when Bayern combine around the box. This hunger for goals, in spite of the championship title under their belts, is impressive."
