FC Bayern's first-round opponents in the 2020/21 DFB Cup will be the winners of the Middle Rhine Cup. This was the result of the draw on Sunday evening in the German sports programme ARD Sportschau, where DFB president Fritz Keller and deputy DFB general secretary Heike Ullrich drew the teams. Exactly which team the Reds will face will be decided on 22 August on 'Amateur Finals Day'.
Düren, Arnoldsweiler, Pesch and Aachen in the semi-finals
Due to the effects of the corona pandemic, the Middle Rhine Cup has not yet been completed. In the semi-finals, 1. FC Düren and Viktoria Arnoldsweiler (both Middle Rhine League) as well as FC Pesch (Middle Rhine League) and Alemannia Aachen (Regional League West) will face each other.
Will Bayern succeed with a historic third straight cup win?
In the coming season, the Reds have the chance to become the first team in the history of the competition to win the trophy for a third time in a row. But there's still a long way to go before then. The first main round of the cup will be played between 11 and 14 September 2020.
FC Bayern's week is centred around the Audi Digital Summer Tour 2020 - you can find all the information about it here:
