On Tuesday, Bayern began their preparations for the Champions League last 16 against Chelsea with an intense online training session in the morning. New signings Leroy Sané, Tanguy Nianzou and Alexander Nübel were all involved as the Bundesliga and DFB Cup winners completed stability and strength drills, as well as some exercise on the bikes.

The second leg against Chelsea will take place on 8 August (21:00 CEST) at the Allianz Arena, with Bayern holding a 3-0 lead. Further success would see FCB into the finals of this year’s reorganised Champions League in Lisbon from 12 August. “We know who we are and what we’re capable of,” said an assured David Alaba. The team will return to Säbener Straße for full training on 26 July, with online sessions planned until then to get the players back up to speed following their 13-day holidays.
