Hi, Leroy! Leroy Sané stepped out onto the turf at the Säbener Strasse facility for the first time on Monday morning. Supervised by Prof. Dr. Holger Broich, the new signing from Manchester City completed his first workout with the German record champions together with Niklas Süle, who is preparing to return to action in the Champions League. Sané is not yet eligible to represent FCB in Europe's elite club competition, "but it was very good to be back on the pitch and to complete my first training session. I'm overjoyed to be here," the 24-year-old said afterwards.
Here's Sané's first session at FC Bayern in pictures:
Intense and gruelling workout
The wide player was in good spirits as he started his first few laps of the facility in FC Bayern training gear, before the drills became really intense: short sprints, long runs and sweat-inducing exercises with and without the ball demanded a lot from Sané. After a little over an hour, the session was completed. Sané is brimming with anticipation for the next few days: "This week I'll still be training with Niklas. Next week I'll start remote training with the team," he revealed.
Leroy Sané was unveiled as a new member of the Bayern squad about a week and a half ago. We followed him on his first couple of days at FCB:
