The constitutional committee appointed by the club's executive committee in February met for its second working session on Wednesday 22 July 2020. The four-member committee is headed by the 1st Vice President of FC Bayern München eV, Prof. Dr. Dieter Mayer. The other members are Honorary Council Chairman, Dr. Gerhard Riedl, Honorary Council member, Marcus Preißinger, and club managing director, Benjamin Folkmann. The constitutional committee has the task of preparing proposals for amending and supplementing the statutes, which will be presented to the next annual general meeting for approval.

As well as editorial changes to the statutes required by association law, topics such as child and youth protection, a clear commitment against racism and discrimination of all kinds and the issue of human rights are part of the work of the committee. In addition, lawyers are working on up-to-date rules for the running of the annual general meeting, especially due to the high number of club members. The possibility of holding a virtual general meeting is also being discussed.

Prof. Dr. Dieter Mayer commented: "Naturally we incorporate ideas, thoughts and suggestions from our members into the work of the committee. I am convinced that, as a result, we will submit an amendment that takes into account both our social responsibility and the values of our FC Bayern, as well as today's association law requirements for a statute."
