Eight fans vying for glory in the Allianz Esports Cup finals tournament
After winning the eFootball.pro Cup last Friday, FC Bayern's professional gamers are on a well-deserved summer break. But there's still one highlight to come: On Monday from 5pm CEST we'll broadcast the final of the Allianz Esports Cup. The fan tournament had actually been planned as a big event in the Allianz Arena. Due to the Corona pandemic, however, that's no longer possible, which is why the final will now take the form of an online tournament. We'll be showing the games on FC Bayern's Esports channels on Facebook and YouTube.

In four open qualification tournaments, almost 150 fans competed for one of the eight coveted places in the final tournament. In knockout mode, a single game will decide how the participants progress. The eight finalists, who all have access to the eFootball PES 2020 virtual Bayern squad, can already look forward to receiving a new Bayern shirt. The winner of the Allianz Esports Cup can also look forward to an additional prize: he'll complete a 90-minute training session together with FCB coach Matthias Luttenberger and the three FC Bayern Esports pros.

Luttenberger wird das Finale auch selbst genau im Blick haben, denn er wird das Turnier für euch kommentieren. „Ich finde es super, dass der FC Bayern so ein Turnier veranstaltet“, sagte der Österreicher. „Es ist ein guter Weg, um die Fans in dieses gesamte Esports-Projekt des Vereins miteinzubinden.“ Für den Sieger hat sich der Coach schon einen Plan zurechtgelegt, wie er diesen im Training einbinden möchte: „Wir werden ihm einige gut funktionierende Formationen und Taktiken mit auf den Weg geben. Letztendlich muss natürlich jeder Spieler selbst entscheiden, was am besten zu seinem Spielstil passt.“ Wer sich letztlich für dieses Spezialtraining bei den Profis qualifiziert, entscheidet sich am Montag.
