Increase font size Text size

Football players often pull their shirts over their heads when they celebrate. But Lucas Hernández had another idea after winning the Champions League: Without further ado, he put the glistening trophy over his head and celebrated on the pitch at the Estádio da Luz. Wait a minute: A Frenchman, who won the World Cup as a left-back, ended up with head in the Champions League trophy?!

Milan or Lisbon - the main thing is the cup on your head! Bayern lifted the Champions League trophy in 2001 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan and Bixente Lizarazu donned the cup.

This scene might be familiar to Bayern fans. In 2001, FCB legend Bixente Lizarazu also celebrated winning Europe’s elite club competition by wearing the same headgear. Neither player had any need to hide after such a great victory.
