Wherever Bayern Munich fans are across the world, they will follow their team at the Champions League tournament in Lisbon with all their hearts. Through “Mission Red”, the club is calling for its fans to show togetherness on days when FCB play by wearing their favourite kits or red clothing, even if it’s a facemask in club colours. Please also post your content to the Bayern social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter & Instagram) . The message to the team in Lisbon is that, although the players and the supporters are unfortunately less close than usual because of the coronavirus, geographical distance shouldn’t deter them standing together.
President Herbert Hainer: “We are FC Bayern – one big family. Our players, coaches, representatives, and our fans share the same great goal of winning the Champions League. We’re in the quarter-finals, and it goes without saying we want to see this tournament to the end. Wherever Bayern fans are on the days of our games, we’re always close. And especially in these times of coronavirus, we stand side by side. Mission Red – together we’ll achieve our goal!”
CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge: “Our team has already achieved something extraordinary in this season, which has been unusual and difficult for us all. Now we have the Champions League finals tournament in Lisbon. Unfortunately, our fans can’t be with us in Lisbon, but we know the bond with the team is unbroken. Our team carries it in every game. Let’s go Bayern! Mission Red!”
To carry out “Mission Red” in the truest sense of the world, key Bayern buildings such as the Allianz Arena, the club offices at Säbener Straße and the façade of the new FC Bayern Welt in the city centre will be lit up in red.
