The double winners will kick off the new season! As the German Football League (DFL) announced on Friday, defending champions FC Bayern will launch the 58th Bundesliga campaign on Friday, 18 September 2020, with a home game against FC Schalke 04 at the Allianz Arena.
In addition, the exact kick-off times for all games on matchdays 1 to 8 were also released. The Munich team have been dealt two Sunday fixtures - TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (27 Sep, 15:30 CEST) and Hertha BSC (04 Oct, 18:00 CET) - before the record champions will play their first Saturday evening match on Matchday 4 away at newly-promoted Arminia Bielefeld (17 Oct, 18:30 CEST).
Standout fixture against Dortmund on Saturday evening
The standout fixture of Matchday 7 in the Bundesliga will also be an evening kick-off, when the Reds visit Borussia Dortmund for a crunch match (07 Nov, 18:30 CET). In addition, Hansi Flick's team will play three more away games up till mid-November against Eintracht Frankfurt (24 Oct), 1 FC Köln (31 Oct) and Werder Bremen (21 Nov).
