Bayern Munich have great goals with the construction of the new FC Bayern Welt at 7 Weinstraße in the centre of Munich. The site will soon be ready for fans to experience the club and its partners first hand over 3,500m2 spread across seven floors.
Rummenigge: “I’m excited”
On Tuesday, CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and board member Jörg Wacker paid a personal visit to see how construction was progressing. “I’m hugely excited about what’s emerging here. Especially in these tough times with the coronavirus, it’s an important sign of what can be achieved here. It shows we can stick to goals despite the pandemic and that we want to establish ourselves as best as possible for the future,” Rummenigge summarised.
Opening still planned for 2020
“I’m happy to be here today. We’re positive we can open in December 2020 as planned,” added Wacker, the board member responsible for internationalisation and strategy. “This building in the heart of Munich shows the roots of FC Bayern and carries the strength of our brand out into the world.”
30 titles – 30 hotel rooms
The highlights include three floors of the Bayern flagship store, a Bavarian and an international restaurant, and a boutique hotel with 30 bedrooms – based on the club’s 30 championship titles.

“This project is the culmination and icing on the cake of our partnership with FC Bayern,” said Attila Dogudan, founder and CEO of DO & CO, the Vienna-based company already responsible for hospitality at the Allianz Arena and who will also run the hotel, restaurants and impressive events area on the top floor.
“We want to do something new and have created something unique across the world,” added a pleased Markus Wienchol, the representative in charge from Nymphenburg Immobilien AG.
Meeting point for all Bayern fans
Rummenigge further praised the location between the church and town hall. “We’ve got a first-class business card for FC Bayern. This will be a new benchmark for international football. I don’t know of anything comparable anywhere in Europe. Our second home, the balcony at the town hall, is just a stone’s throw away. This will be a great meeting point for all Bayern fans.”
While work continues on the building in Munich, Bayern are in Portugal to secure a third title this season with the Champions League:
