Due to last season being extended with the finals tournament of the Champions League in Lisbon, the Reds' preparation time for the new season is much shorter this year. In just 10 days' time, the Bavarians have their first competitive fixture with the Bundesliga opener against Schalke 04 at the Allianz Arena.

Following their well-deserved holiday, head coach Hansi Flick called his squad together for a virtual training session on Tuesday morning. It was very clear the players, led by captain Manuel Neuer, were very happy at getting together again, even if it was only virtually for the moment. During the session, the team worked up quite a sweat during some strengthening and stabilisation exercises.
