Hernández comeback in French win

A successful international return for Lucas Hernández. In a repeat of the 2018 World Cup final between winners France and runners-up Croatia, the FC Bayern defender made his return to the Équipe Tricolore for the first time in almost a year and he went the full distance. After 90 entertaining minutes, France ran out 4-2 winners on matchday two in the Nations League and now lead Group 3 together with European Championship winners Portugal on six points.

France come from behind

The visitors took the lead through Dejan Lovren on 16 minutes. The hosts turned the game round just before half-time with a double whammy from Antoine Griezmann (43') and Dominik Livaković (45+1' o.g.). After the restart, Josip Brekalo (55') levelled for Croatia before France went ahead again through the Leipzig player Dayot Upamecano (65’). In the closing stages, substitute Olivier Giroud (77' pen.) rounded off the scoring. Ivan Perišić played 66 minutes for Croatia.

Germany, with Niklas Süle and Leroy Sané in the team, drew 1-1 with Switzerland on matchday two in the Nations League. Full report:
