FC Bayern will travel to Bundesliga 2 side Holstein Kiel in the second round of the 2020/21 DFB Cup. Kiel thrashed Oberliga side FC Rielasingen-Arlen 7-1 to progress to the second round. They have been playing in the second tier since the 2017/18 campaign, where Ole Werner's side currently occupy fifth place. Bayern, meanwhile, have the opportunity this season to become the first team in the history of the competition to lift the golden trophy three years in a row. After victory over fifth-tier outfit 1. FC Düren in the first round, they now head to the far north.
