Bayern to face Holstein Kiel in DFB Cup

FC Bayern will travel to Bundesliga 2 side Holstein Kiel in the second round of the 2020/21 DFB Cup. The draw was made on Sunday evening during ARD Sportschau, with former Germany women's international Inka Grings and DFB vice-president Peter Frymuth pulling out the balls. The second-round ties are scheduled for 22 and 23 December, with the exact date for Bayern's meeting with 'the Storks' still to be confirmed.

Kiel overcame FC Rielasingen-Arlen in the first round in mid-September

Kiel thrashed Oberliga side FC Rielasingen-Arlen 7-1 to progress to the second round. They have been playing in the second tier since the 2017/18 campaign, where Ole Werner's side currently occupy fifth place. Bayern, meanwhile, have the opportunity this season to become the first team in the history of the competition to lift the golden trophy three years in a row. After victory over fifth-tier outfit 1. FC Düren in the first round, they now head to the far north.
