FCB, Flick and Lewandowski clean up at Globe Soccer Awards

Team of the year, coach of the year and player of the year. FC Bayern, Hansi Flick and Robert Lewandowski were winners at the Globe Soccer Awards 2020 and earned their rewards for an outstanding year. For the striker it was the third individual honour following being voted UEFA Men's Player of the Year and Best FIFA Men's Player of 2020.

Lewandowski thanks his father

"This trophy means a lot to me. I'd very much like to thank my team and our coaching staff. It's incredible what we've achieved. A special message for my father who's watching me from heaven. Unfortunately, he was never able to watch me play as a professional. However, he was with me for my first steps in the game and he gave me the belief that I could win awards. This award reminds me of my time with my father," said Lewandowski after the ceremony.

"The team became more and more confident and better over the course of the season – that’s down to the coaching staff"

Hansi Flick

"It's a great honour to receive the Globe Soccer Award. None of that would have been possible without the incredible team around me. I have the best players and my coaching staff have played a big part. We've given our best over the last year and tried to prepare our players for everything. The team became more and more confident and better over the course of the season – and that’s down to the coaching staff," said Flick about the award.

The Globe Soccer Awards have been presented since 2010 and are amongst the most important awards in football alongside the Ballon d'Or and the The Best FIFA Football Awards. The former FC Bayern coach Pep Guardiola was named Coach of the Century at the event in Dubai.

Flick received special recognition from the sports journal kicker due to his modesty:
