Süle: "We've been incredibly strong in the Champions League this year"

Lokomotiv Moscow held up Bayern for a long time, but at the end of the day the Bavarians sealed a deserved 2-0 victory. "After the opener I knew we'd win," Hansi Flick said after the final whistle. "I'm very happy we finished the group stage with a victory today because we've been incredibly strong in this competition this year," commented scorer Niklas Süle.

Reaction to Bayern vs. Lokomotiv Moscow

Hansi Flick: "Our opponents were very defence-minded but after the opener I knew we'd win because we were solid at the back. We achieved what we set out to do. 2020 was an outstanding year for us in the Champions League, with the title win this summer. We wanted to end the year with a win and we did that."

Niklas Süle: "I'm very happy we finished the group stage with a victory today because we've been incredibly strong in this competition this year. We made the most of it at the end, and nothing else matters."

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting: "Everyone loves to play in the Champions League. This is the biggest stage. First and foremost, the most important thing is that we do well and win. And if you add a goal yourself to that, it’s all the better.”

Marko Nikolić (Lokomotiv Moscow head coach): "The group stage is over, and unfortunately we've dropped out of the competition. We had very few players with us today, we were very weak on the bench. We did create some chances, but in the second half we were tired. We gave everything and the team showed good spirit.”
