




FC Bayern are still to play their DFB Cup second-round fixture away at Holstein Kiel on 13 January, but if they progress then the holders will already know their opponent for the last 16.

Hansi Flick’s side would take on Bundesliga 2 side Darmstadt at home in the last 16 on 2/3 February after the draw was made on Sunday by former ski jumper Sven Hannawald and DFB vice-president Peter Frymuth. Fourteen of the 16 second-round matches were played prior to Christmas, but Bayern’s tie with Kiel and Bayer Leverkusen’s fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt were both postponed until the new year due to a congested calendar.
