Flick: We'll enjoy the flight now

In a bitterly cold Berlin, Bayern celebrated a less-than glamorous, but well-deserved three points. "It was a hard-fought victory," said Thomas Müller after the 1-0 win over Hertha BSC before turning his attention to the Club World Cup: "We're looking forward to this final tournament after the UCL triumph. We want to be crowned there." fcbayern.com has collected reaction from both camps after the game.

Reaction from the Bayern camp

Hasan Salihamidžić (board member for sport)"Hertha are a good team. They counter-attacked well from time to time. But I think we deserved to win. Kingsley played well. He looked for one-on-one situations and rewarded himself, even if he was a bit lucky. In the second half we lost a few balls that we didn't want to lose. Cunha's chance just before the end should not have happened. But we also missed a penalty. You have to remember that. On the whole, we're happy to take the three points."

Hansi Flick: "The first half was difficult. We had to survive a few phases off the ball, but the team did very well. We defended the 1-0 lead until the end, so I'm satisfied. We wanted to leave for Qatar with a win. Now we'll enjoy the flight."

Thomas Müller: "When we came to warm-up and the grass was glistening, we could smell that it was going to be a hard fight. Pál Dárdai's teams fight for every square inch of turf. You could see the Berliners' commitment. We certainly should have scored a goal or two more in one or two different scenarios, be it through the penalty or Kingsley's shot. You can't sparkle in every game. What is noticeable is that we're picking up clean sheets more and more. That's because we are sitting deeper, but of course you also need a bit of luck. And we still have Manuel at the back. We now have five wins in a row and are looking forward to the Club World Cup. It's the crowning glory after the Champions League. We want to be crowned champions."

Reaction from the Hertha camp

Pál Dárdai (Hertha BSC head coach): "Everything we set out to do, we saw. That's why I can't blame anyone. We had our chances, we also played cleverly in terms of possession and used spaces well. If we continue to play like that, we'll have some luck soon."

Sami Khedira (Hertha BSC): "It was nice to be back in the stadium, in the stands and to be needed by the team. I'm very happy to be back. But I'm not happy with the result. In the end, the goals and coolness in front of goal were lacking. We had a chance in the third minute and just before the end. We knew Bayern's weaknesses. We used that well. If we work like that and play like that, we'll definitely get points in the next few weeks."
