Bayern crowned German champions for 2021!

For the 31st time in the club’s history, FC Bayern are champions of Germany. After Borussia Dortmund’s win against RB Leipzig on Saturday afternoon, the Munich men can no longer be knocked off top spot and go into the evening's match against Borussia Mönchengladbach as the recrowned champions. FCB have now brought the trophy to Munich nine times in a row – an unparalleled run in Bundesliga history.

Kept their eyes on the prize

The road to the 2020/21 title began with a record-breaking opening-day win against Schalke in September and continued via numerous big clashes, in which Bayern kept managing to fend off their rivals. The record champions had to play catch-up and overcome setbacks and absences, yet Hansi Flick’s side never lost sight of the end goal – and like last year, the title has been clinched on Matchday 32.

It’s now 30 titles for the record champions since the formation of the Bundesliga, once again underlining their peerless status in Germany. The Bavarians have finished on top in over half of the 58 seasons of Germany’s top flight. As usual, we have all the information on another victorious campaign in one place with the FC Bayern app!
