It's the first trophy of the new season! As annnounced on Wednesday, the final of the 2021 DFL Supercup between German champions FC Bayern and DFB Cup winners Borussia Dortmund will be played on Tuesday 17 August (20:30 CET). The final will take place at Dortmund's Signal Iduna Park and will be shown live on SAT.1 and Sky in German-speaking countries.
Record winners Bayern can defend title
Last season, Bayern beat BVB 3-2 in the Supercup thanks to Joshua Kimmich's winning goal.
This is a rematch of the final last year, when the men from Munich won 3-2 in a thrilling game against the Black and Yellows at the end of September 2020. With eight successes in the DFL Supercup, FCB are the record winners of the competition, followed by BVB with six titles.
