With just over three weeks to go until the start of UEFA EURO 2020, some of the teams involved have named their provisional squads. Each country can select 26 players for the pan-European tournament, which is being held across 11 countries. The final squads must be submitted to UEFA by 1 June. As with every tournament, numerous FC Bayern players will be involved in the upcoming European Championship.

Healthy Bayern contingent for world champions

No fewer than four players from the German record champions are in World Cup winners France’s squad. Coach Didier Deschamps has called up Benjamin Pavard, Lucas Hernández, Corentin Tolisso and Kingsley Coman for the Équipe Tricolore, who face Germany in Group F on 15 June at Munich’s Allianz Arena. Their other group opponents are holders Portugal and Hungary.

Lewandowski heads up Poland squad

The Best FIFA Men’s Player Robert Lewandowski heads up the Polish national team’s squad for EURO 2020. Coach Paulo Sousa has named 26 players plus five on standby. Poland are in Group E, where they meet Slovakia, Spain and Sweden.

Alaba on duty for Austria

In Group C, Austria will be battling it out with Netherlands, North Macedonia and Ukraine for a place in the last 16. Coach Franco Foda’s provisional 30-man squad includes Bundesliga record champion David Alaba, who will leave Bayern at the end of this season after 13 years.
