France, with FC Bayern players Benjamin Pavard and Corentin Tolisso in their line-up, were only able to draw 1-1 with Hungary in the second Euro group match. After the opening win against Germany, the Equipe Tricolore now have four points ahead of the last group match against Portugal.

In front of a sell-out crowd at the Puskás Arena, Pavard played the full 90 minutes and Tolisso came off the bench on 76 minutes. The two FCB players Lucas Hernández and Kingsley Coman (not in the squad for personal reasons) did not play.

Every chance to cool down was welcome in the midsummer heat in Budapest.

In spite of a dominant performance by the French in the first half, Hungary took the lead just before the break with a goal from Attila Fiola. Antoine Griezmann levelled for Les Bleus on 66 minutes. There were no further goals in the game.
