Canada have reached the next round of World Cup qualifying - thanks to an Alphonso Davies goal! On Wednesday night, Canada defeated Suriname 4-0 to finish their qualifying group with the maximum 12 points from four games. The FC Bayern left-back put his country on the winning track in the 37th minute, Davies' fourth goal in his last three international appearances.
1 goal and 2 assists for Davies
After the break, Jonathan David scored a hat-trick (59',73',79'(pen)) to complete the victory - twice assisted by the outstanding Davies. "We're happy that we were able to take the lead and then play the way we know how. We created good chances and scored the goals. The interplay [with Jonathan David] is good. He was in the right position every time I looked for him," explained the 20-year-old.
