€100,000 for victims of flood disaster

FC Bayern Hilfe eV has donated €100,000 to the Bavarian state government to support the victims of the flood disaster in Bavaria. State minister Dr. Florian Herrmann accepted the cheque from Hilfe eV chairman Karl Hopfner at the state chancellery. Last week the German champions decided, as well as €1 million from the charity match against Schalke, to spend €100,000 from the club’s charity. The sum came from the support of FC Bayern members and fans as well as numerous patrons.

“The Bavarian state government will use these funds to quickly help people who are in need because of the flood situation in Bavaria. We are proud of everyone for coming together to help in a situation like this,” explained Hopfner.

“The Free State [of Bavaria] does a lot for people in need, but so does FC Bayern,” commented Dr. Herrmann. “The most important thing when such disasters strike is to get help quickly and without bureaucracy. We are very grateful to FC Bayern for its generous involvement, with substantial amounts, across Germany but also with the people who have fallen on hard times here in Bavaria. A heartfelt thanks.”

FC Bayern will also play a charity match in aid of the victims of the flood disaster:
