Rouven Kasper, FC Bayern President Asia, is leaving the club to join the board of VfB Stuttgart as Chief Marketing & Sales Officer. The 39-year-old built up FC Bayern’s office in Shanghai and led it with great success since it opened in summer 2016.

Jörg Wacker, FC Bayern board member for internationalisation and strategy: “Rouven Kasper has done an outstanding job at the head of his team in Shanghai and has been enormously creative. His commitment has allowed FC Bayern to expand its brand not only in China but also in many other Asian countries. It was absolutely the right decision bringing him to FC Bayern and entrust him with this job in China. I’m convinced Rouven will master this new challenge on the board at VfB Stuttgart with his great leadership qualities and his winning personality. We’d like to thank him and wish him all the best for his future, both private and professional.”

Rouven Kasper: “I’d like to thank the whole board and all colleagues at FC Bayern. I had five very exciting and intense years in which we’ve been able to develop and advance a lot together. Together with my great team in Shanghai as well as my colleagues at headquarters, we’ve been able to further expand and refine the FC Bayern brand in Asia, bring our fans even closer to the club, and offer our global such as regional partners tangible added value. All this has given me great pleasure and I wish FC Bayern all the best for its next developmental steps in Asia and in general.”

Kasper started at FC Bayern as Managing Director of Chinese subsidiary FC Bayern Munich (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.. Due to his achievements in building up FCB’s presence in China, he was appointed President Asia for Germany’s most successful club two years ago. Since opening five years ago, the Shanghai office has been able to steadily intensify the dialogue with Bayern’s Asian fans and initiate a large number of new strategic partnerships. Especially during the difficult time of the pandemic, Kasper’s team succeeded in conveying the support of the FC Bayern family to the people in Asia through many innovative ideas, as well as generating commercial success at the same time.

FC Bayern is currently on the Audi Summer Tour:
