From the Alps to the Allianz Arena, FC Bayern are known around the world but are at home in Bavaria. The new Champions League kit was inspired by the mountain panorama of Munich’s surroundings. Using a white-blue colour scheme, a stylised mountain world is incorporated into the innovative design, symbolising the home ties and roots of Germany’s record champions as well as their demand to always aim for the highest peaks. FC Bayern draws its strength at the foot of the mountains before heading steeply upwards. Bavaria is an attitude to life, a lifestyle, and that is transported to football grounds all over Europe with the new kit, sporting a cool look when the floodlights come on and Champions League matches kick off.
Thomas Müller: “Being a born-and-bred Bavarian, I particularly like this look. I love the mountains, I love my home, and I think it’s nice we can illustrate to the whole world this special attitude to life we have here with this jersey.”
New FC Bayern Women player Saki Kumagai: “I’ve just joined FC Bayern and felt at home from day one. Mountains always have a motivating effect on me, and they remind me of my home in Sapporo. FC Bayern is known for always having the highest goals, in both men’s and women’s football. That’s why we’re all here.”
"Mia san mia" on the neck
FC Bayern will have Audi as its sleeve sponsor in international matches in the 2021/22 Champions League. The new kit can be purchased in all FC Bayern Stores and online as a UCL logo pack with the Audi rings free. The accents on the sleeves and the collar are dark blue. The three stripes on the shoulder, the logo and the numbers on the back stand out on the kit with their red colour. The club’s famous saying “Mia san mia” is woven into the neck area.
The new jersey will be worn by the players for the first time at today’s Supercup against Borussia Dortmund. It is already available in the FC Bayern Online Store and all FC Bayern Stores, and will be in other shops from 24 August. The cost is €89.95. The authentic version worn by the players, which features the functional fit and adidas HEAT.RDY technology, is available for €139.95. Further information is available online at fcbayern.com.
