FC Bayern mourns the loss of Gerd Müller, one of its greatest ever players. At Sunday's home match against 1. FC Köln at the Allianz Arena (kick-off 5.30 pm CEST), the German record champions will honour their unique goalscorer with a special commemoration together with their fans in the stadium. Before kick-off, president Herbert Hainer and honorary president Uli Hoeneß will pay tribute to "Der Bomber" with speeches on the pitch, which will also be shown on broadcast channel DAZN.
Following the speeches, there will be a minute's silence and the players will also wear black armbands. The German record champions will invite friends of Gerd Müller to the match in memory of the great man. There will be a slideshow of pictures of his life on the screens before the game, and after the final whistle, the arena will light up a second time with special "Danke Gerd" lettering to bid visitors to the ground a Gerd Müller-filled farewell into the Munich night on their way home.
