Jörg Wacker has resigned from the executive board of FC Bayern München AG.
Wacker, 53, joined the German record champions on 1 July 2013 in the newly created position of board member responsible for “internationalisation and strategy”. During Wacker’s tenure, FC Bayern has, among other things, opened its first overseas office in New York in 2014, followed by its second overseas branch in Shanghai in 2016.
Since November 2015, Wacker has also been in charge of the area of merchandising and licensing. In this role, his responsibilities have included the design of the so-called FC Bayern World, which opened in Munich city centre last December.
FC Bayern thanks Jörg Wacker for his eight years of service on the board, during which he has successfully promoted the club’s interests with great commitment, and wishes him all the best for his future.
