FC Bayern club house *1900 at the Campus

FC Bayern Munich fans have a new meeting place with the opening of the club house *1900, the new club bar at the FC Bayern Campus, after a year of preparation. President Herbert Hainer tapped the first keg, and CEO Oliver Kahn, vice-chairman Jan-Christian Dreesen, board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic, head of women’s football Karin Danner and vice-president Professor Dr. Dieter Mayer toasted each other with a glass of Paulaner alongside landlord Max Lösch as the restaurant opened for business.

“We’re delighted to be able to offer our fans this new meeting place. The *1900 club house is intended to be an FC Bayern meeting place for body and soul, a living room where everyone feels at home,” said Hainer. “We wanted to create a place to go at our FC Bayern Campus that offers our supporters the chance to watch all FC Bayern matches in every sport where there’s TV coverage. The *1900 has an atmosphere in which people like to exchange ideas over a meal and a beer or two, support our teams in front of the TV screens and experience FC Bayern together – with body and soul, as befits a sports pub. It’s intended to be a meeting place, whether around the complex training and match operations here on the Campus or before our first team’s home games at the Allianz Arena nearby.”

More than 4,000 emails with name suggestions were received in response to a call for entries by club members. Of the four that made it to final selection, *1900 prevailed – a reference to Bayern’s founding year. Planning for the pub, which will appeal to all fans, members, athletes, staff and parents of Campus players, started in summer 2020. The indoor area offers space for 100 guests, while the outdoor area can cater for a further 180 people. With five televisions, no one in the room will miss a scene. And there’s also a dartboard for your own sporting activity. The interior is designed to resemble a living room where the Bayern family feels at home, displaying pictures, trophies and books from all club departments to create a deep FC Bayern atmosphere.

The FC Bayern AGM will be held on 25 November:
