“You have to work hard for your dreams,” said Robert Lewandowski. And the Pole knows what he’s talking about. He and his Bayern teammates have been rewarded in recent months for those many years of hard work by winning everything there is to win in club football. He’s also been showered with individual prizes, most recently the Golden Shoe for Europe’s top goalscorer. As part of that accolade, the 33-year-old looked back on his great success and spoke about what drives him on. You can watch the whole interview above.
“It’s about what you can still win”
Lewandowski himself has experienced how hard it is to reach the top, bit also knows it’s even harder to stay up there. “It’s not important what you’ve won but what you can still win,” is the motto of the scoring machine. “I know how hard we have to work for the next trophy, the next title celebration. That’s why every trophy means a lot to me.” Anyone hearing that also knows that Lewandowski still has great intentions, and he could be in line for the next great accolade as the striker is one of the 30 nominees for this year’s Ballon d’Or.
