Goretzka, Davies and Ulreich making progress - but ruled out for Hoffenheim

Bayern’s injury problems are gradually easing again. Following Kingsley Coman and Corentin Tolisso’s successful return to action recently, Sven Ulreich, Leon Goretzka and Alphonso Davies are also nearing full fitness. Ulreich has been out for around a month with a partial ligament tear in his right knee joint. After resuming running on Monday, the back-up goalkeeper is now working with the ball again – as are recent absentees Goretzka and Davies. Both started in last weekend’s 5-1 win at Bayer Leverkusen but missed Wednesday’s Champions League clash at Benfica (4-0).

“Not yet 100 per cent”

“Leon and Alphonso are not yet 100 per cent, they won’t play tomorrow,” revealed Nagelsmann in the press conference ahead of Saturday’s Bundesliga match against Hoffenheim. Ulreich is the only other absentee.

Warm-up, passing, running

At the same time as the first-team squad’s final training session, first Ulreich and then Goretzka and Davies worked with fitness and rehabilitation coach Simon Martinello on the field. After a warm-up routine, passing drills, ball familiarisation and runs were on the training plan.
