"St. Nicholas is never the Easter Bunny" - the famous saying uttered by honorary president Uli Hoeneß, who alluded to the fact that the race for the German title is not decided in the winter, but in the spring. Bearing that in mind, FC Bayern start their preparations for the first match of the second half of the season straight after the turn of the year. Head coach Julian Nagelsmann will welcome his team back to training at the Säbener Straße on 2 January 2022 to prepare his squad for the first match of the year, against Borussia Mönchengladbach. The game is slated for 7 January (KO 20:30 CET) at the Allianz Arena.
Live stream of the start of training
The first session of 2022 will take place 16 days after the side's last competitive match of 2021, against VfL Wolfsburg (4-0) and will offer some interesting insights into how the Munich team will approach the new year after a well-deserved break.
You can follow the training restart live. We'll bring you the session from Säbener Straße in a free livestream - and that'll hopefully be the first of many highlights to come in 2022!
