Bayern vs. Salzburg in last 16!

Bayern have been handed an intriguing but manageable first knockout round tie in the 2021/22 Champions League, as the six-time winners of Europe’s top club competition were paired with Austrian first-timers RB Salzburg in Monday afternoon's repeated draw for the Round of 16. The ceremony was held at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland and was conducted by UEFA managing director of communications Pedro Pinto, UEFA deputy general secretary Giorgio Marchetti, and Andrey Arshavin, ambassador for the final host city St Petersburg.

As group winners, the record German champions will be away in the first leg (15/16 February or 22/23 February) with the second leg taking place at the Allianz Arena three weeks later (8/9 or 15/16 March). The final of this season's competition will be held on 28 May 2022 in Saint Petersburg.
