The EuroLeague has cancelled FC Bayern's match against CSKA Moscow scheduled for this evening at short notice and rescheduled it for a later date. In doing so, the EuroLeague made a decision that was also in the interest of FC Bayern. On Thursday, FC Bayern Basketball chief executive Marko Pešić and club president Herbert Hainer had submitted a request to postpone the game in the light of the blatant breach of international law by Russia. "FC Bayern welcomes the right decision made by the EuroLeague," said Herbert Hainer. "FC Bayern condemns the Russian attack on Ukraine. I would like to thank EuroLeague CEO Jordi Bertomeu very much for an intensive and constructive discussion on this very sad day."
Baskonia Vítoria's match against Kazan (Thursday) and Barcelona's match in St Petersburg (Friday) were also subsequently postponed.
