FC Bayern mourns the passing of Herbert Harbich

FC Bayern is mourning the death of former youth supervisor Herbert Harbich, who passed away at the age of 80 on Thursday after a short, serious illness. Harbich spent almost 35 years volunteering for FC Bayern’s youth teams, most of that time as a team supervisor with the U19s, with whom he won the league title three times. When he retired at the end of 2014, Harbich was named the first ‘honorary supervisor’ in the club’s history.

President Herbert Hainer: “Herbert Harbich was the good soul of our youth section for over three decades. He lived FC Bayern with every fibre of his being and accompanied countless players like eventual Champions League winners Philipp Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger, David Alaba or Thomas Müller on their way to professional football with a lot of heart and soul. We will always keep Herbert in honourable memory, and our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.”
