It was the last piece of the club’s first treble puzzle as Bayern beat Stuttgart 3-2 in the DFB Cup final on 1 June 2013. Following on from the Bundesliga and the Champions League, FCB now had all three major titles from the 2012/13 season in the bag and took their place in history.

Gomez the hero
The win in Berlin meant the generation of Philipp Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger & Co. would go down in legend. Thomas Müller put Bayern ahead on 37 minutes with a penalty, before Mario Gomez’s brace in the second half put the Reds into an unassailable 3-0 lead, even though Martin Harnik got two back for Stuttgart with 10 minutes to go. But Bayern weren’t letting go of this title as they donned T-shirts with the message “OANS, ZWOA, DREI – GWUNNA” – “One, two, three – we’ve won it” in Bavarian – and kicked off a big night of partying.
