FC Bayern Women’s sporting director Bianca Rech has been appointed vice-chair of the European Club Association’s Women’s Football Committee. “The ECA Women's Football Committee plays a crucial role in safeguarding the interests of European clubs and I am delighted to help drive this important mission as vice-chair,” Rech said of her appointment. She will now represent FC Bayern and German women's football on the important committee. “The clubs are the driving force for a successful future for women's football. We lay the foundation for young players to become role models for their national teams and therefore inspire girls all over the world to follow their dream and play football. The entire football world benefits if we professionalise the structures in the clubs accordingly,” said the 41-year-old.
Kahn: “Of enormous importance”
FC Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn congratulated Rech on her appointment. “Our women's team has become an indispensable part of the European elite thanks to its outstanding achievements in recent years. It is therefore of enormous importance for us to actively shape the further development of women's football in Europe. With Bianca Rech, we now have a representative at the ECA who will represent the interests of our club in this body.”
