FC Bayern supervisory board extends contract with Salihamidžić until 2026

The FC Bayern Munich AG supervisory board unanimously agreed at a meeting on Monday evening to extend the contract of board member for sport Hasan Salihamidžić, 45, by three more years until 30 June 2026. The former Bayern player became sporting director in August 2017, and was appointed to the FC Bayern Munich AG board on 1 July 2020 for an initial three years.

He is constantly advancing the sporting side of our first team and young talents, both structurally and personnel-wise. As well as our targets on the pitch, he always keeps in mind the financial conditions. Hasan Salihamidžić gives everything for FC Bayern 24 hours a day. The supervisory board is convinced that he will continue to successfully shape the sporting future of FC Bayern together with his board colleagues in the coming years.”

Since Salihamidžić has been in charge of the sporting department, FC Bayern have won five Bundesliga titles, the DFB Cup twice as well as the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup during the historic sextuple year 2020/21. He played for FCB from 1998 to 2007 and, like current CEO Oliver Kahn and club ambassador Giovane Elber, was part of the team that won the Champions League in 2001 in Milan.
