FC Bayern congratulates all athletes on their impressive performances at the European Championships in Munich, which thrilled millions in front of their TV sets and many spectators at the venues.
FC Bayern president Herbert Hainer: "We are all sports lovers, and it was fantastic how Munich once again showed itself to the world as a great home for sport. The performances of the athletes from all over the world were spectacular, the atmosphere could be heard far beyond the Olympiastadion and the other sports venues. These games have shown once again: Munich is lively, cosmopolitan - and extremely sport-focused. Everyone involved in this event can be proud of themselves. It was an extraordinary celebration of togetherness and diversity, full of emotions in a sporting spirit."
FC Bayern officials and players also attended the championships. For example, as well as board member for sport Hasan Salihamidžić, coach Julian Nagelsmann, Joshua Kimmich, Serge Gnabry and Leon Goretzka, women’s players Klara Bühl, Sydney Lohmann and Hanna Glas cheered on the athletes who competed in nine different disciplines.
