FC Bayern will donate 50 percent of its gate receipts from tomorrow's DFB Cup first round tie to Viktoria Köln. President Herbert Hainer had promised the third-division club this support from the German record champions. Viktoria Köln are expecting 50,000 fans in the stadium for what is the biggest match in the club's history.
Herbert Hainer: "Viktoria Köln boast a history of over 110 years and have been a constant in German professional football. Many clubs are suffering from the consequences of the pandemic, and FC Bayern have always been renowned for supporting troubled clubs. We're happy that we can make this contribution and wish Viktoria Köln all the best for the future - with one exception, where we ask for understanding: in the DFB Cup we obviously want to reach the next round, as we want to go a long way in this competition."
