Julian Nagelsmann: We showed a good reaction

"A win's always important, that was no different today," said Julian Nagelsmann, delighted with the reaction his team showed against Bayer 04 Leverkusen. The relief was also palpable among the players as Bayern ran out 4-0 winners in a dominant display. Nevertheless, Jamal Musiala - the standout performer with a goal and brace of assists - was keen to point out: "We're not completely out of the woods yet. We have to deliver in our upcoming games."

Reaction to the game against Leverkusen

Oliver Kahn: "It was the first step in the right direction, but we know not to get ahead of ourselves. We have to play like that in every game. If we do that, I'm optimistic."

Julian Nagelsmann: "A win's always important, that's no different today. We're happy with the result and the manner of the win. The early goal helped us. We were far more effective compared to the last game. We prevented the counter-attacks in the first half. We controlled the game. The second half was a little more open. It was a good reaction after recent results. We're happy and hope we can kick on in the Champions League."

Manuel Neuer: "The reaction and the way we went about it was spot on. We're capable of playing that way again and that's how we want to play at home to Plzen. If we do, we'll head to Dortmund in good spirits and will try to get a win. I feel positive, given the dominant performance today."

Joshua Kimmich: "It was a good game at an important point [in our season]. Obviously recent results weren't great. Luckily, today was better and we hope it's the start of a run."

Jamal Musiala: "We all want to win and be the number one. That's what we showed today, and is exactly what we have to show in our next games. We're not completely out of the woods yet. We have to deliver in our upcoming games. We managed to get in behind the defence and made the right kind of moves. I got a bit lucky with my goal because Hradecky got a touch. I still want to improve and score more goals, even though the season's going well for me. We all felt the pressure, so kept the focus on ourselves."

Reaction from the Bayer 04 Leverkusen camp

Gerardo Seoane (Bayer 04 Leverkusen coach): "The worst thing that could have happened - an early goal - happened. Bayern's combination play was on point and they were really in the mood, but we weren't good enough in the tackle. We lacked the necessary bite in certain situations. We weren't aggressive enough today."

Kerem Demirbay (Bayer 04 Leverkusen midfielder): "We went there to win. But Bayern dominated from the start, it was tough. They dominated us in every area. They did a superb job and have a superb coach. For us, though, it's a tough situation. Now we have to analyse the game. Everyone has to ask themselves if they really gave it their all."
