Inter Milan with comfortable win ahead of facing Bayern

Inter Milan will make their Champions League trip to Munich full of confidence after they ran out comfortable 3-0 winners at home to Sampdoria in Serie A on Saturday. Stefan de Vrij (21’) and Nicolo Barella (44’) game Simone Inzaghi’s team a two-goal lead at the break. Joaquin Correa rounded things off in the 73rd minute. It extended the Nerazzurri’s winning run to four games across competitions. Bayern’s next opponents currently sit fifth in the Italian league with 24 points from 12 games.

Inter line-up vs. Sampdoria: Onana – Skriniar, de Vrij, Bastoni (Acerbi 69’) – Dumfries (Bellanova 79’), Barella, Calhanoglu (Asllani 83‘), Mkhitaryan, Dimarco – Martinez (Lukaku 68‘), Dzeko (Correa 68‘)

All settled in Group C

Inter’s 4-0 win over Viktoria Plzen last Wednesday guaranteed they will finish in the top two of Champions League Group C and therefore join Bayern in the round of 16. Given they are five points off table-toppers Bayern, Tuesday’s meeting at the Allianz Arena will have no bearing on the group, with the German champions already confirmed in first place.
