FC Bayern put on a clinic in their 5-0 rout of Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League on Tuesday. "It was a superb team performance from start to finish," said Man of the Match Sadio Mané after the clash at the Allianz Arena. Coach Julian Nagelsmann agreed: "Everyone did a good job. I'm happy with all of them." fcbayern.com rounds up the reaction...
Reaction to the Plzen win
Julian Nagelsmann: "The boys did a good job. The game was all but over as a contest pretty early on. Then we just kept at it. We took the game seriously - it was the right game to show we're on the right path. Everyone did well. Not everyone's found their rhythm, but I'm happy with all of them."
Leon Goretzka: "Nine points from three games and a decent goal difference: we'll take it. In the first half, we were disciplined and did a good job of putting Julian's game plan into action. You could see we'd done our homework on the opposition. It was a good night at the office, but we won't get carried away. Still, we're on the right track."
Sadio Mané: "It was a superb team performance from start to finish. We created a lot of chances, and scored five goals. There's no doubt it was a deserved win. We had a tough few weeks, but we've started well after the international break. We hope it continues until the end of the season."
Reaction from the Plzen camp
Michal Bílek (Viktoria Plzen coach): "All in all, there was a massive gulf. They scored with their first attack and were really in the mood. We knew what to expect from a team that had beaten Barcelona. Bayern are among the favourites. There's so much pace in the side. We did the ground work, but it wasn't enough."
